Shakin' Up The Street
Shakin' Up The Street by Michael Irvine

In this painting you're right in the middle of the pack, racing up the street - part of the action. Combining several cars in one view presented a challenge in both scale and perspective. Michael chose a single point perspective for creating the dramatic streetscape. To draw attention to the Shakers, he aligned all of the hood scoops along the horizon line—positioning the red Mach 1's Shaker directly on the vanishing point. In the two years of production, the Mach 1 was available in 8 colors. In Michael's signature use of reflections, all 8 colors are represented.

"When I first saw the Mach 1, I thought, 'How cool! A new Mustang with 305 hp, an R code engine designation, and a true, functioning Shaker hood scoop! Scott Hoag and Team Mustang did a great job with this one!' Right away, I knew I wanted to create a painting featuring the Shaker hood scoops, along with giving the viewer the feeling of speed. The name came first, then everything just came together!"- MICHAEL IRVINE
