On any given Sunday in the late 1960s—early '70s, you could visit the nearest drag strip and cheer on your favorite drivers as they showcased their talents a quarter mile at a time. Cougar enthusiasts are treated to a special show as this Sunday brings out the best of the breed. From Boss-powered Eliminators to XR-7s, from GT-Es to vintage racers, they've all come out on 'Top Eliminator Day.' At the track are two legendary racers, Fast Eddie Schartman and Dyno Don shooting it out, while the infield plays host to the Classic Car show.

"This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Mercury Cougar and I really wanted to create the ultimate Cougar tribute painting! A while back someone emailed me a couple of shots of their cars. When I saw how they were parked, I instantly thought of a drag race ... a street race actually ... but as I did my research I learned a bit about the cars' racing history.
