Chasing History by Michael Irvine
You join the chase as the Highland Green 1968 Fastback Mustang and the Triple Black '68 Dodge Charger RT travel along the final
stretch of Route 66, ending in Santa Monica, California! This painting features all three of Ford's "Bullitt" Mustangs and three body styles of the Dodge Charger.
The incredible setting, taking in the the legendary historical route, includes such famous landmarks as the Conoco Service Station & Cafe, Wigwam Motel, the Blue Swallow Motel, Delgadillo's Snow Cap, Blue Whale Amusement Park, the World's Largest Totem Pole, Britten Water Tower, Munger Moss Motel, the Gemini Giant and the Bunyon Giant! "Chasing History" was commissioned by Hoondog Events to commemorate the inaugural "Legend Lives Tour" on Route 66 - Chicago, IL to Chino, CA (Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show). "I had been doing a lot of research - watching the movie Bullitt again and again for inspiration while painting "DODGE N’ A BULLITT". In January, we were in Arizona for Barrett Jackson and took a couple days to see Sedona and the Grand Canyon, and ended up on a short stretch of Route 66. When HoonDog Events approached me to create a commemorative painting for the inaugural "The Legend Lives Tour", everything just came together! There are so many interesting stops along the route, the hardest part was choosing which landmarks to include."- MICHAEL IRVINE Print Size: 26" x 16" image on 30" x 21", Edition Size: 500, S/N Price: $160 See also Ford Muscle and Mopar Muscle |
